The CDS Wolf Foundation hosted its annual donor recognition dinner Thursday, January 28th to recognize the generous philanthropists who make everything we do possible.
The event kicked off with a cocktail hour as soft jazz music hummed in the air of the Wolf Life Transitions Center, played by a jazz duo. Donors, board members and staff mingled over hors d'oeuvre while a projection of the CDS Life Transitions logo and its six companies displayed in the corner, signifying the recent restructure and showing off the new logos.
After dinner was served, CDS Life Transitions President/CEO Sankar Sewnauth took to the stage and discussed the launch of CDS Life Transitions, saying how it's a positive step in the right direction. (See the video CDS Life Transitions released all about the restructure here). Afterward, the CDS Wolf Foundation Board Chair, Jerry McCullough, who is also the vice president at Rochester's Ryan Plumbing, spoke about the positive direction in which the foundation is heading. Next, Angel Morales, who receives services from CDS Monarch and is on the board came up to speak, recounting how CDS Monarch has helped him achieve independence. Following Angel, Norma, who lives in CDS Housing's community on Lewis Wolf Boulevard, spoke about how much she loves living in her apartment. She said she has the freedom to explore her interests and the staff is always willing to let her try new things. Lastly, Todd, a veteran who receives services from Warrior Salute Veteran Services, spoke about how much his life has changed since coming to Warrior Salute Veteran Services. He said he had fallen into a downward spiral of drug and alcohol use before coming in, but now he's doing better than ever and is seeing life in a new, positive way.
Ultimately, the event was a great way to gather the generous people who see to it that we are able to help people achieve independence and transition to new lives, and our thanks go out to everyone who supports us. We're looking forward to what 2016 has to offer, and we can't wait to see how much change we can make!
