On Sunday, March 9, 2014 The Wolf Foundation hosted its 7th Annual Strikes for Abilities Bowling Party, presented by North Forest Office Space, Gallo & Iacovangelo, Mr. and Mrs. John and Sarah Norton, and Salmin, Celona, Wehrle and Flaherty, LLP.
The event raised a record amount of $33,000 to support unfunded recreational activities for individuals assisted by CDS Monarch. There were over 300 people in attendance from across the Greater Rochester community. In addition to our presenting sponsors, The Wolf Foundation would like to thank Fibertech Networks for being a major sponsor, Culligan for their donation of fundraising incentive prizes, and Scott Spezzano from 98PXY for being the event emcee.
“On behalf of everyone at CDS Monarch, I would like to express my deepest appreciation and congratulations to The Wolf Foundation and the volunteer committee for holding another outstanding bowling event,” stated Sankar Sewnauth, CDS Monarch President/CEO. “Their personal commitment to the individuals we assist and continued dedication to our mission are what makes this event such an incredible success every year. We are truly grateful for all of the hard work they put into organizing this event, and for helping us to surpass our fundraising goal!”
The 2014 Top Fundraiser was Chuckie Dell (For the Love of Chuckie team), who raised over $3,000, and the 2014 Top Bowler was Linda Lindenburg.
Several generous businesses and individuals also helped raise an additional $1,700 during the “CEO Strike Challenge”. During the 5th frame of the first game each lane sent up their best team member, and for every lane that bowled a strike $20.00 was donated!
This event was organized by a compassionate group of family and community volunteers. The 2014 Volunteer Committee Chair was Margie Dell (for the third year in a row), whose brother Chuckie lives at CDS Monarch’s French Road residence, works at Unistel and is a gold medal winning athlete on CDS Monarch’s Special Olympics team.
